Meet The Team

Kayla L. Ackel

Attorney at Law and Notary

Founder of Heritage Title & Law Group

Kayla Lawrence Ackel was born to close transactions. It is her talent to ensure that deals get closed while caring about each and every aspect of the transaction. In her own words, she “enjoys finding creative solutions for complicated problems.” She graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. At Tulane, she was the recipient of the esteemed Louisiana Legislative Scholarship and was continuously on the Dean’s List. Ms. Ackel then earned her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School where she studied Real Estate Transactions, Business Transactions, Estate Planning, and Successions. During law school, she excelled in moot court competitions and was placed as a top oralist in the region. She was also awarded one of Tulane’s best overall Alternative Dispute Resolution competitors, and served as a Coach to Tulane’s nationally recognized Appellate Moot Court Team. Ms. Ackel grew up immersed in real estate. Her mother Shelley Lawrence is one of the top real estate agents in New Orleans. Her grandmother was a real estate agent, and her uncle is a business broker. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Ackel was a real estate agent herself. She therefore understands the difficulties that can arise in real estate from the realtor’s perspective. Ms. Ackel cannot imagine a profession she would enjoy more than being a Real Estate, Business and Successions Attorney.
